What is bleed and why do I need to know about it ?

If you supply us with print ready artwork we will ask you about something called "bleed". Commercial printing equipment does not print right to the edge of the page. We can however supply you with a finished product printed right to the very edge of the finished page. How do we do this ? If we are printing an A4 leaflet we will print it on a sheet of paper slightly bigger than A4 and then trim it back to A4 size.
